Lucie Gholam was born into a French-Lebanese family in 1999. After graduating in spatial design from l’Ecole Boulle in Paris in 2019, she continued her studies at Aalto University and graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2023.

Her dual nationality led her to be constantly searching for the traits of her identity as a designer and a person. Design, for her, is a laboratory for investigating her surroundings, allowing her to discover various techniques and work with materials such as wood, metal, glass, hempcrete, and ceramics.  She tries to bring techniques together through the lens of researching her own personal story as well as sharing questions about urgent topics. By questioning not only the qualities of materials but also objects or spaces, her research focuses on working with new, more circular materials and adding value to what’s already existing. Lucie enjoys playing with archetypes, and her influences are diverse, drawing from architecture, sculpture, pop culture, queer and feminist theory, as well as French and Lebanese inspirations.
